12 Tips para redactar mejor en inglés:

1.- Crea un título que llame la atención y que intrigue

Esto despertará la curiosidad del lector y leerá con atención el resto de tu redacción.

2.- Realiza un borrador antes

Siempre se te van a ir ocurriendo ideas mientras vas desarrollando el contenido, así que lo mejor es primero realizar una lluvia de ideas de lo qué querrás detallar en el texto, elegir que va en cada párrafo y definir cuáles serán las ideas principales antes de realizar tus redacciones en inglés.

3.- Mantén el texto simple

No es necesario utilizar estructuras gramaticales complicadas ya que pueden confundir al lector o pueden hacer pesada la lectura. Lo mejor es usar la fórmula S+V+C (sujeto, verbo y complemento) que es fácil de leer y que te ayudarán a no cometer errores.

4.- Usa conectores

Los conectores te ayudarán a enlazar las frases y darle un sentido de continuidad al párrafo. Puede utilizar conectores comofirst, second, later, then, after that, next, since then, finally, at the end y un montón más y cada uno está dirigido a diferentes tipos de textos.

5.- Utiliza pronombres

Para no repetir una y otra vez el sujeto o a las personas que estés nombrando y utiliza su reemplazo de pronombres. Hará la lectura más ligera y la atención del lector irá a las acciones y detalles que menciones en la redacción.

6.- No uses un traductor

Si ya has estudiando un poco el inglés de seguro te has dado cuenta que es imposible traducir algunas palabras y que no tiene sentido traducir palabra por palabra y obtener el mismo significado (y hasta obtener algo coherente). Claro, te pueden ayudar a traducir palabras que aún no conoces como escribirlas en inglés pero no te fíes de ellos al traducir frases.

7.- Utiliza tu conocimiento

Lo mejor es redactar con el conocimiento que ya posees y no estresarte o presionarte en utilizar frases o vocabulario forzado. Recuerda que aprender un idioma es un proceso continuo y que nunca finalizará. Utiliza los verbos, vocabulario y conectores que ya conoces. Te sentirás confiado y seguro de lo que escribirás y el texto fluirá fácilmente.

8.- Produce textos referentes a temas que has aprendido

Por ejemplo, si estudiaste el pasado simple lo mejor es practicar lo conocimientos redactando textos de tus vacaciones pasadas, qué hiciste ayer, qué hiciste el fin de semana, qué hizo tu familia el fin de semana; en fin, dale un contexto a los temas que hayas aprendido y ponte a practicar. Esto te ayudará a refrescar verbos, vocabulario y como organizar las oraciones.

9.- Utiliza un diccionario si es necesario

Si no sabes como decir una palabra en inglés lo mejor es buscarla en un diccionario. Sería de gran ayuda que te ofrezca sinónimos y antónimos para que no repitas siempre la misma palabra y varíes el texto (además de enriquecer tu vocabulario).

10.- Lee habitualmente

La lectura te ayudará a tener una caja de ideas en tu cabeza para cuando quieras escribir un texto con un tema parecido. Es de gran ayuda realizar esto habitualmente ya que siempre aprenderás una nueva palabra o expresión y estarás al tanto de las nuevas frases que son utilizadas diariamente.

11.- Piensa en inglés, escribe en inglés

Es difícil lograrlo pero con perseverancia lo podrás conseguir. Esto te ayudará a que fácilmente puedas recordar expresiones que no pueden ser traducidas a tu idioma y que le darán un toque especial a tu redacción en inglés.
Revisa, revisa y revisa. Siempre revisa tu proceso de lectura, puede que se te ocurran nuevas ideas o te des cuenta de frases redundantes.

12.- Utiliza los signos de puntuación adecuadamente

Los signos de puntuación en inglés son algo diferentes en inglés y español. Es recomendable que revises cuando utilizar la coma, el punto, el punto y coma, etc.

                                 Algunas de las prácticas que puedes llevar a cabo para mejorar tu listening son:

1. Ver series y películas en V.O: Si te resulta muy complicado al principio puedes poner los subtítulos en español y poco a poco ir cambiando los subtítulos a inglés para después prescindir de los mismos.
2. Escuchar la radio: Hay emisoras como radio Vaughan que te ayudarán con tu comprensión del inglés y puedes escucharla Online. Dedicar una hora al día te será de gran utilidad.
3. Ver vídeos y tutoriales en internet. Youtube está lleno de vídeos enfocados al aprendizaje del inglés para españoles. (Vaughan)
4. Audio-lecturas: Escuchar mientras lees, bien sea artículos como pequeñas historias. Esta opción es muy útil porque de esta manera a la vez que lees y comprendes el inglés memorizas la pronunciación.
5. Y por su puesto ¡conversa!: No hay mejor manera de aprender inglés y practicar el listening que hablando con nativos. Puedes acudir a cualquier café especializado en este tipo de intercambios, conocer a un amigo inglés o apuntarte a una academia.

Ireland is a country that is full of stories about spirits and magic. One of the stories is about a banshee, a woman spirit. According to Irish legend, the banshee cries before a member of one of the five major Irish families dies.
The banshee usually appears in a grey cloak and she may be young, middle-aged or old and ugly. Sometimes she is seen washing blood from the clothes of people who are going to die. Often people don’t see her – they just hear her strange cry. Many people think that her loud cries are cats howling at night.
The banshee only appears at night when a member of one of the important families is going to die. There are times when people are warned of her arrival. They see horses without heads pulling a big, black coach.
So is the banshee real? There are many reasons not to believe in it. But if you ever hear the banshee cry, it can only possibly mean one thing: Someone is going to die!
